NHS App

Libraries across the country are working in partnership with the NHS to help more people access online health services and use the NHS App.

If you have a mobile device or tablet you can download the NHS App from the App Store for Apple devices, or from the Google Play Store for Android devices.

If you don’t have a mobile device you can join join St Helens Library Service if you are not already a member and use a library PC for free to log in to your NHS account

The NHS App or NHS account can be access by anyone aged 13 and over registered with an NHS GP surgery in England or Isle of Man.

What can you do with your NHS App/NHS account?

Access Services:

  • Request repeat prescriptions without having to contact your GP surgery, and choose where you want to collect them.
  • Contact your GP surgery to request care or information using an online form.
  • Use 111 online to check if you need urgent medical help.
  • Browse the NHS health A to Z to read trusted health information about symptoms and treatments.
  • Browse the NHS medicines A to Z to read about side effects and other common questions.
  • Find NHS services services near you.

Manage Your Health:

  • View your GP health record to see your medical history, test results, allergies, medicines and documents.
  • Manage and check appointments at your GP surgery and hospital, including hospital referrals and waiting list information.
  • Manage and check the status of your prescription requests and confirmed prescriptions.
  • Make health choices, such as registering your organ donation decision, choosing if your health data can be shared for research purposes, and deciding to take part in health studies.
  • View and manage care plans about how you would like your healthcare team to look after you (depending on your GP surgery).

Read & Send Messages:

  • View and send messages from/to your GP surgery and get notifications through your phone or tablet.

Help Someone Else:

  • Switch profiles and access the health records, appointments and prescriptions of people you care for, including children.

Please Note: You may not be able to access all of these features, this will vary depending on the services offered by your GP Practice.
