What is a BIPC? 

BIPC (Business & Intellectual Property Centre) provides accessible support to start up and run a successful business. BIPCs are designed to offer anyone, whether they have an embryonic business concept, have formed a new business or are developing a company, access to a range of services around protecting and commercialising their ideas.

We provide BIPC Information Points at St Helens Library and Newton-le-Willows Library, offering access to resources and support to anyone thinking of starting a business, or growing an existing one.

What is available?

  • A wide range of business books are available for loan, which are designed to help people protect their idea and get it off the ground.

  • Access to databases which contain up-to-the minute local, national, and international market and industry information from our BIPC Information Points.

  • A programme of online and physical events, including workshops, webinars and networking opportunities.

BIPC Collection

Our BIPC book collection offers a wide range of titles for loan which can provide information and advice on a variety of topics related to starting, running or growing a successful business.

BIPC Databases

From our BIPC Information Points at St Helens Library and Newton-le-Willows Library you can access powerful, high-value databases containing detailed, up-to-the-minute information on markets and business sectors as well as funding opportunities. These databases are invaluable to anyone wanting to write a business plan, raise finance, assess the potential of a market, or evaluate the competition.

These databases are FREE to use but you will need to be a library member to log into the public PCs where you can access them. If you are not already a member you can sign up online here.
